Hey everyone, well basically I posted a thread on another website with this image [image attached below called Connor Drawing] requesting help for it to be edited. He came back with THIS image [image attached below called drawing_jpg ] which is EXACTLY what I wanted. He also included a Adobe Illustrator file, so I'm not sure if he did this on PS or AI. That was over 2 months ago and he hasn't replied to any messages or posts so far, so I'm taking it that he doesn't browse the forum anymore.

I just want someone to tell me how he went about doing that, because I have a ton of these images which I would like done in the same style, and it would be AWESOME if I could do them myself.

I've posted this same request on a few other forums, but no replies as of yet. If you know how to do this, PLEASE take 2 minutes out of your day to reply, it would be HUGELY helpful to me.

Thanks everyone!!

Hi Wombat,

Do you have AI? If so it should be easy enough to ink over your original image using a combination of the blob brush for sweeping strokes and the pen tool for the large areas. You will then have a piece of Vector artwork that can be re-sized as necessary without any loss in quality. I dont think it would take you very long to complete a number of these. If you dont have AI then use the pen tool in photoshop to achieve much the same thing.

If I've misunderstood what you are trying to do or would like any extra help let me know. Also there are tons of people on this forum far more qualified than me and they may have an even quicker solution.

Cheers

That just looks free hand, in either shop or AI, BOTH would do it really.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think it was freehand, it looks too perfect, i.e. the circles, although not perfectly circular, are equidistant from the centre of each one. [I don't really know how to explain the point about the circles.] Do you agree it looks to perfect for freehand? I would have thought there was some automatic way to do it, and then touch it up freehand?

It seems like you want to do this a quick as possible.... the attached took less than 10 seconds...

Open File / New Levels Adjustment Layer / Move sliders - done!

Doesn't look as good as you would get with any ideas above but quick and dirty it is.

That's the thing, I can do your version of it really easily, but that's not what I want. I want the lines perfectly smooth, as in the one the other guy did for me. I don't exactly understand it but I think he used something called vectors?

Oh well guess I am being taken for a sucker - will leave it at that... if not please read above.

webwize, sorry what do you mean you're being taken for a sucker? So Paul would that be the best/easiest way to do it then? By hand with that vector crop thing?

Thats one way of going about it yes, why don't you come up with your own design though.
Or maybe draw your own design up then use AI to tidy it up.
Try this tut you will have to do variations on it but it will give you ideas how to use tools etc ILLUSTRATOR VECTOR TUT
