Hello all, I am beginner Photographer, I want to buy a camera, My Budget is also low. So, I want to go for second Hand Camera.
However, I need Suggestion about Nikon D80 Vs D3100.
Which is the best from me? I am able to buy any one of the Both Camera.

So, I would be Happy if anyone suggest me about the Matter Please...........

I have recently purchased the D3100 and i am very happy with it, very easy to use and feature pact.
Images are amazing and the effects you can do with it are awesome, then using Photoshop you can go that bit further if you know what i mean.
Good video also - only ten minutes but great quality, all geared up around YouTube video lengths i believe.
One slight issue Nikon raw is not compatible with cs5 not sure about 6, but it does come with it's own raw software which is really good.

Thanks for your reply ans suggestion. i also think that D3100 is the best one then D80. Though D80 has large sensor then D3100.
I think I should go for another one. Because both of then are old model.

My desire is for a D7100 ...sighhhh,,1000 bucks is lot of money to me these days though. If you do stick with one of the above I think I would also go for the 3100. Several on E-bay.

I am assuming your do mean Nikon D80 and not D800??

D3100 wind a mile off the D80 would have been in the same range as the D3100 nearly 10 years ago.

All though in its day it would have been a good camera the D3100 today would out perform it will have updated technology so even for a dx camera it will have a better Iso control and output.

The other point is shutter life you will find a camera that old may not have much life left in the old mechanics on the shutter nikons will take around 150k photos before you need to look at shutter replacement which is expensive.

as for raw then raw with cs5 and above should open it which is adobe raw 6.3 i believe. If you are on cs4 then download adobe dng convertor. raw is best far more flexibility.
