I decided to get CS5 instead of Elements 10; as I already have the Elements 9... think that was a good move..??...

I see no way on the CS5 to display "open files" icons listed across the bottom of the active screen... I see no way to turn this feature ON in the views setting... only separate windows style tiles... I prefer the Elements format...

I got CS5 primarily for dynamic imaging; as I have 40 years of Ektachrome slides to copy.

enough for now.... thanks for listening.... Robert

is the open files bar you speak of not at the top? it took me a while to notice it. i thought it closed the image i was working on in favor of the new image :P

...the "open files" window (on my Elements-9 ONLY) is across the bottom ... not all the way; the layers/effects menu bar is at the right side... just as it is in the CS5, also... I can't believe that "open files" has been eliminated; it makes drag-drop to the active window so easy... it's a pain with individual windows.

...in ELEMENTS; it's called the "project bin"... but not used in CS5... I work with montages often, & find the 'open files' displayed across the bottom panel very useful... CS5 uses the 'bridge' format instead; guess I need to learn that.

Welcome to PSG robiss
Just so you are aware what you refer to as a project bin is a more advanced program called Adobe Bridge lets you browse your computer for images it will also dispaly raw camera files illustrator documents and pdfs in a preview icon and you can click and drag them into photoshop.

It is a stand alone program designed to bridge program to program ie illustrator to photoshop etc but has many handy features.

It is also a panel that can be loaded into photoshop like you are use to it in elements

The red circle loads up a panel in photoshop and the blue circle loads up the full program
