I am wondering if anyone could improve the general look of this cutting which includes my grandfather's shop 'Clifton House'.

It's always a bad idea to offer a previously edited image as a base for further editing. This makes it unnecessarily difficult to edit or disables certain (better) image editing features.

Any chance to get the original scan?
