Painting with Style

I developed a technique like this too, quite a while back. I planned to write about i one day, but I never did.
Actually it's quite simple. I apply the layer style to the complete canvas and use the brushes on a mask instead.
 
Gauss Next time when you develop something pls write about it.
There is not that many people who are able to do that. :)

I would love to that Lily, but the fact is that it takes a lot of time, something I don't always have :)
 
WoW, that has given me some really good ideas to play with, how cool is that......thanks for the link :righton: [excited]
 
Take a new layer and fill it with a solid color,now apply bevel and emboss and add a layer mask,now start painting on the mask,its quite a cool effect as well.
 
Here's one I did a while ago using this technique.

Used multiple layers with random styles added to each layer.
Chop and change the styles midway through 'painting' to get crazy effects.

Try adding the 'Water Drop' style to a layer above an image. Add a black mask to the style layer and use a soft airbrush at a low transparency to paint in.

Wild!

Anyone who has a Wacom if you put your pen tools filter in your plugins folder the 3d chisel creates quite a cool effect :)

I just did a little make up on Madonna.

The glove is done with Hatch`s PS styles.
