Photoshop CS6 troubleshooting

Good afternoon, and first of all my thanks as ever to all who have helped me, and still keep on helping me, after all these years.

My problem: suddenly Photoshop CS6 won't open. This has never happened to me before.

Can you kindly suggest a step-by-step easy method to solve this problem? As an octogenarian, I am at my wits' end trying without success to find a solution.

It would help those wanting to help you which OS you are on and which Cs6 release, snd also what steps/approach you use to open PS Eg clicking an icon etc

Thks for prompt reply.
I am on Windows 10 and have always opened Photoshop CS6 by clicking on its icon on my desktop. But now only the Photoshop toolbox pops up on my screen, nothing else.
