So I'm having this weird issue where photoshop keeps rasterizing any effects, layer adjustments, layer masks, etc inside a smart object.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve it?
attaching a video replicating the issue.

Just really quick................your SO is not an SO..........it opens as a PNG

Should open as a PSB!

This is caused by, OPEN as a smart Object (Drag and Drop), verses Convert to a Smart Object.

Convert the layer to a Smart Object and you r problem should go away.

I don't know if this is your problem................it's just what I quickly noticed!

Will have a deeper look.

When you save the PNG, it's saved as a PSD file under temporary documents (on a Mac). It's not a true smart object. If you open the temp PSD files, it will show the layer mask and the added layer style.

Yes, this was my problem.
Had to right click and convert to smart object to make it work.

Thanks sam.
