PlugIns and CS6

Hi All:
Upgraded today to CS6 from CS5. Opened CS6 (64) folder and could not find a plugin folder. PS support said copy plugin folder from CS5 to CS6. It didn't work - the ICorrect plug-ins were not available on the essentials desk. Same issues with OnOne PhotoTune 3. Re-downloaded CS6 and tried again to no avail. Any help appreciated.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins

is where you need to put the plugin files however if you need to put them in the 32 bit photoshop
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins
 
Hoogle: Yep - messing with the wrong folder. This is embarrassing, as FireFox says when something dumb happens. Thanks very much for your quick and accurate fix - even if it did leave me redfaced.... :-)
 
I had an issue when upgrading from cs5.5 to 6 I uninstalled all of my master collection and all of my 3rd party plugins reinstalled my new master collection reinstalled all my plugins and half of them did not show up. All though I knew where to put the plugin parts etc I could have saved myself a lot of time by not uninstalling them all in the first place.

However I do like fresh clean starts.
 
I guess it's all about trial and error and try again. Ten years from now, if I'm still kicking, I will still be learning Photoshop. By the way, did you uninstall CS5.5 after you got CS6 going with all your plugins loaded?
 
I uninstalled everything and cleared all my registry keys for adobe as to not cause conflict

You may notice by snooping around in your "User" folder, that Adobe has a plug-ins folder here now also:

C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\plug-ins (btw the AppData folder is hidden by default)

They have their own default plug-ins in there. You can try adding your own there also. But it's been highly recommended by Adobe that users simply reInstall their plug-ins to make sure all the drivers get put where they should be.

That would seem to be the simplest way to get past this issue.

There's also a COMMON folder within the main Adobe folder where all the Adobe programs are installed. In there is also a plug-in folder. But it doesn't appear to be of much importance that i can see. Adobe themselves might know better though.
