Prbm related to Layers

Hi.....................

I am totally new in Photoshop. And the prbm i m facing is that whnever i work on a layer, then lots of times i get a msg "The layer is not directly editable." Though, I havenot locked my layer. Then also I get this msg. I dont know wht i m doing wrong??????????

Any suggestion from u ppl??????????

That message comes up if you are trying to do certain things on a vector layer. Examples of vector layers are text layers and shape layers. If that is the case, you need to rasterize the layer first.

Layer > Rasterize > Layer
