I have Photoshop 7 and I want to create some business cards in Photoshop and then print them.

How? [confused]

How do I set it up so that it will print out on those business card sheets correctly? [confused]

I did one that took me all of about 7 minutes give or take.

It's a huge file though. 1.5mb

If you want it, I can post it somewhere for you I suppose.

How do I set it up so that it will print out on those business card sheets correctly?

I make my own templats in Photoshop:

Business card size:
Width 3.5 inches and hight 2 inches resolution 300

and Tamplet:

With 8 inches and hight 10 inches resolution 300.

You can download the templat zip file here :

I make my own cards, flyers, etc as well. What I do is create a single business card 3.5 x 2 and save that. The take a template like Lily has provided and move a copy of the card into each box so they line up correctly. Then you are good to go on the printing.

Oh! Now I get it. The template is a separate creations. Now I see why I was so confused. [stuned]

Ok. How do I create the template then?

Ijiljana, thank you very much for your offer. I may take you up on that offer, however, I would like to know how to create a template. If I bomb at that, then Ijiljana's Download here I come. :righton: 8))

It is very easy : Open a new doc. 8 x 10 and show the rulers, then with the move tool make a guides, size of bus.card, and just place the cards like this:

Hope this helps. :)

Perfect! Thank you ljiljana. 8)) [excited]

For me an illustration is always a big help, that way if I don't comprehend what is written the pictures can always fill in the blanks. :)

Well, I am finished. I thought I would share the finished results with the forum. :)

Keep in mind that this is my first business card design. I made the first one and it didn't work out. The longer I looked at it the more imperfections I saw. So, I redesigned it. It is a business card for the lady who cuts my hair. I don't get paid for it, I just wanted a project to see if I could design a business card, so I told her I would make her some for free.

It will not look as good on the web as it does in print, but here it is:

WOW!!! :shocked:

I should have shrunk this baby down. [stuned]

Well, I am sorry about that. I am still new to Photoshop, so I guess some lesons are learned the hard way. :{

Cloak & Dagger: remember the finish format ( the card itself is only 2D) so the drop shadow and BevelEmboss on the borders may not reproduce your image the way it's viewed on your monitor.
What I normally do is use 1-3 colors and as far as the texture you added that could be done by buying custom card stock when you go to printing.
Just food for thought. ;)

Well, it came out looking better in print than it did on the monitor. However, I printed it on my printer. I am not going to take them to the printers for the job, it is a free assignment, so I am not using the best money can buy.

Custom card stock you say? Great! That is along the line I was thinking. I didn't want to do that now, but in the future when I have mastered this skill. I want my business cards to look real expensive. :righton:

Well that was just a disaster! :{

My printer could not handle the quality business card stock paper. So, I had to get the cheap stuff and it came out looking ugly. Meanwhile, the business cards would not print in the places they were suppose to. :(|

I will just have to take it to Kinko's. When I do work for somebody I do not like it to look cheap, and the result I was getting made it look cheap. }P

I don't know what type of printer you have, but mines is the HP photosmart 1000 and it a front loader. What I do is use regular sheet paper and just black ink and at low quality to save ink and check for correct positioning, only then I'd use the custom stock paper and colors :)

Business cards are so that the first printing of business cards and stationary world.Business are the main promotional tools used by any company to be known.

I suggest looking through photoshop tutorials online. It's much easier learning with some visual aids like pictures and videos than simply reading through the tips of other online folks. Especially if the software you are using is a popular one, it shouldn't be too hard to find some great tutorials.
