Hey gang, how we doing. So the other day I downloaded a trial version of Ps CS6 to use at work when I started to work on an image right. Well, to my surprise I couldn't unlock the only layer in the file. Double-clicking on it produced no results, and Ps wouldn't even let me rasterize the layer. Thought I might have had to do that. So I'm investigating the menu options to get a new layer and everything is greyed out. WTH?!?!?! Has anyone had similar issues with CS6? I know Adobe has since released a patch since Ps CS6 was shipped however the information about this patch made no reference to my problems. Is this a bug in the program or am I missing something. Thanks people.

I honestly don't know Rm, I fiddled around with it for awhile but nothing worked. I'll mess with it on Monday when I go back to work.

If it's a .gif file then it's obvious, just Ctrl+A , Ctrl+C, Ctrl+N and then Ctrl+V

That would work provided I was able to make a new layer, but Ps wouldn't even allow me to do that in this case.

To unlock the layer hold down "alt" and double click the locked layer.... this will unlock it. Hope this helps.

I have to hold down the alt key now? Sheesh, why some things can't be left alone. Can't wait to see how the 3D options operate.

If it's a .GIF, select all (command + A) > Edit, copy > File, new, OK > Paste.

Unlocking a layer has not changed in CS6, holding the alt key just bypasses the new layer dialogue.
