Question About Making Colored Reflections

Hello all,
I am new here, but not new to photoshop. Well I am no expert, but I have been working for a couple of years. I just wanted to know if anyone can point me in the right direction or tell me a tutorial on making colored reflections. I guess what I am trying to explain is this. I am wanting to make like a blue glowing object and I want it to be dark in the room and I want to have a person looking at the blue glowing object and I want them to have blue light all over their face and such. I was just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to finding out a tutorial or a step by step way to accomplish a real good realistic colored glow on a person?

Thanks for anything that you guys can offer.

Screen mode is your friend. Set a layer over your image to Screen Mode, fill the layer with black (which is transparent in Screen mode) set the brush tool to SCREEN also. Pick the color of light you want to paint with and have fun. Every stroke will intensify the effect (adding more light). If you have areas you ant to "erase" simply use your brush set to Normal and paint black over the offending area.

If you have not tried this technique before you will be amazed.
