Question about removing a text from an image and replacing it with another text...

Hello. I'll try my best to explain. Please bear with me. xD

I just want to know if it's possible (and if it is, I want to know how) to remove a text from a certain picture and then replace it with another without making it look like it's *photoshopped*. For example, a blackboard with equations written all over it, but instead of leaving it just like that, I want to remove the stuffs scribbled there and just leave myself with an empty blackboard to write a text. And, do I need to DL / use a certain kind of font? What if the picture I have is low-quality, would it still work somehow? How do I make the text *real*?

Another example would be my own picture. I took a picture of myself holding a paper with my friend's name written, but I misspelled his name by a letter. I can just simply take another picture, but I want to use my picture as a dummy test for this. In addition, I've been trolled by my friends enough regarding this whole edit of the text thing and I tried asking them for help, I just got trolled more. >.>

If there's a thread for this or if I've violated any rules, kindly inform me and I'm sorry in advance. Thank you! c:

Re: Question about removing a text from an image and replacing it with another text..

If it's on a simple background, like a blackboard or piece of paper, you can use the patch tool or the clone tool (try both, different strokes for different folks and one might be better than the other for the job). If it's complicated (like over leave on a tree, in someone's hair...) it'll be easier to just take another picture.
To make it look 'real', choose a font that looks 'real'. You can use whatever you want though - there are no technical restrictions on which fonts you can use where. If you're re-setting something written by hand, I would recommend re-setting ALL the text. Not just the one letter that needs fixing. Otherwise it will look less 'real' because the PS-added stuff will stand out a mile to the original text.
Make the text a normal layer, then use the mesh tool to mold it to the shape of the paper/wall/sky/whatever. Remember Perspective!
Images are only as big or high-res as they come to you. It will still work. Just don't try and resize it - then you'll have text that's smoother and cleaner than the rest of the image - another dead giveaway to a photoshopped piece.

Hope this helped. :) -White

You can always try handwriting the text. Use a tablet to draw it or scan it in. There are a lot of available free fonts to consider as ts white said.

It was fun playing around with Patch Tool. I thought it'd be quite difficult for me to learn using it. XD I still don't know how to use the Clone Tool. Reading tuts and such about it. And, using a tablet does sound much easier, but sadly, I don't have one right now. The Mesh Tool is in Adobe Illustrator, correct? There isn't one in Photoshop? o: Thank you so much for the help! :3

Make a new layer of your image, use the colour picker tool to pick the blackboard colour out, then use the pen tool to mark out the black board outline. Then paint in or fill the 'marching ants' with the blackboard colour. You can now place in your new text at will.
You did say blackboard so i used that as my example.
