Hi all,
I'm a Web Developer but newbie with Photoshop. I use to create web template in photoshop and then slice it. I don't have much knowledge. Many times my image is very heavy. I wish to know how could I crop and save Image so that it would be clear but light weighted.
My procedure to crop image is
After selecting Image by Morque Tool I use Image-Crop then File - Save For Web & Devices-
JPEG
HIGH (As I need more clear Image)

OR
What would be the settings to crop light weight images using jpeg or gif or png option.
Kindly suggest me the best solution.
thanx

I dont think there is a better tool for this other than the slice tool but then I am not 100% sure what you want

Ok Not sure if you are aware of the slice tool are you slicing by cropping etc or are you actually using the slice tool hidden behind then crop tool

I dont understand why you are cropping it when the slice tool will auto crop it when you go to save for web and devices select images or images and html and play with the optimisation I tend to fine switching from jpeg or gif to png 24 is the best results.

And I would simplify your coding as I have sliced 160 Mb PSds down to 1 Mb successfully. If you are slicing text then dont just slice the space you want the text in and then put the text in using HTML

I would keep the high res pic & large pic, and edit the code I use to put it in...
Such as the height and width it is displayed. . . (May be displayed improperly in some web browsers.)
But, if you are going for light wieght i suppose the best method would be to crop the image or lower the res.
