Removing texture with healing brush tool

Hi,

I found this tutorial on you tube
which demonstrates how to remove texture without loosing an original texture colour. The video advices to create a blank file and fill it out with colour (no matter which). The new document is used as a source for healing brush. I followed exactly the steps explained in the video making sure the sampled and current layer are selected. The problem I have is that the healing brush leaves the colour of the source document on the picture I am working on. Not with every stroke, but with most of them. Why is that? And how can I prevent this? It looks so simple on that video !

Many thanks,

Aga

Link us to the video if you can so that we can see what the problem is. I've never used that technique so I can't answer.

Hi,

I cannot post the link, but if you search you tube for
[h=1]Matt Nicolosi Photoshop Texture Layering Tutorial[/h]it should come up.

Many thanks,

I tried this on an image myself. The only time it sampled the color of the source is when I went off the edge of the source. Since it was behind the image I was working on I didn't always notice it.

Nice technique, actually, and one I had not tried before.

Hi,

How do you know you went off the edge of the source image? I had both images opened and I cannot see when I go off the edge of the source? It is a really nice technique indeed and I would like to apply it, but cannot get it working for me :(

Many thanks,

Aga
