Hello! I'm trying to take a logo that is 1559 pixel by 797 pixel and resize it down to 42 pixel by 21 pixel, which is what our website is requiring. I've been trying to find some help online, but the only directions i find are telling me to go to "Image Size" and change it in there. But what happends when i change it is it gets blurry and unreadable. Is there any way to do this? I appreciate any suggestions you may have! Oh and i'm using CS5. THanks again.

well that is almost 40 X smaller than your original I am guessing it wont be very readable. To hard to describe best ways to doing it without knowing what it is your resizing a logo can be anything from text to graphical. I dont know if your logo is surrounded by useless stuff that can be cropped out to make your starting image smaller etc. Post your image and I am sure someone will tell you the best method for scaling it down.

Here's the logo. I relize that making that it that small you won't be able to read the txt. I'm contemplating just remaking the logo with no letters and using it that way.

Thanks!

So I decided to remake the logo in the size I need, which is 90 pixels by 28 pixels. Everything i'm doing still looks blurry, I'm lost. We're making a training website (its a pretty basic, probably free hosting site). I'm not sure how we're suppose to make an image that smal and have it be clear?

it is impossible with your logo the size you are after is smaller than a typical thumbnail.

As Hoogle has said, you really can't squash something down that small and expect clarity. Simply put, there are not enough pixels to produce the image when you start to scale it down to 42 pixel by 21 pixels. If you don't mind me asking, but why does your site require it to be that small?

Try cropping your logo closer to the text (the longer bars are unnecessary at the smaller size.) Once it's cropped and reduced, use UNSHARP MASK: 100% / 1 / 0. This helps a little and the logo becomes pretty readable. Like stated above, there are not enough pixels to make a clear image if reduced too small.
