I would like a tip or 2 on scanning in line art. I've never had much luck at it and was wondering if any of you had a tried and true method. I posted an example of what I'm scanning and what I intend doing with it. I was also wondering is I would do better to use a digital camera to photograph the art as opposed to a scanner.

Whatever method you try, it will never look good. The best way is to grab a dedicated vector program and trace the image manually.

When coloring comics we always scan inked art at 600dpi bitmap 50% threshhold. Not sure it it applies to your project but it works for Marvel & DC so it may help you too.
