Scarification in shop

This is called scarification, it is done via cutting into the skin creating scar tissue, a bit like tattooing but without the ink.
My question is this how could it be achieved in Photoshop?

I did one of those about 2 years ago I think I still have psd but emboss was part of it and upper layers in Luminosity mode I think you can do is trace the design with a very small smudge tool normalmode tolerance hundred percent then select what you Tracedcopy paste it in a new layer Play around with emboss and luminosity that might get you there
