Shapes On The Same Layer

I'm trying to make all my lines in one layer in photoshop. I realize I can merge the layers, or create a group, but wanted to know if there is a way to just have all the shapes stay in one layer without having to do something after i've created all the shapes. Maybe a setting or hotkey? I am creating a perspective grid but have 30 shape layers that i alway merge afterwards. Also I can't use the brush on the same shape layer and i need to.
(ie a bunch of lines and some sketching on the same layer is what i am looking for).

thanks in advance!

well i figured out i could use the fill option when using the lines and it would keep everythin on the same layer, the only problem is i cant adjust each individual line. I need control of all the individual lines but have everything on one layer.

How are you drawing these lines? Do you require equal spacing, what is it you're actually trying to do?

Trying to make landscape shots with buildings (drawing then shading in grayscale) I'm brand new to perspective drawing and am trying to get a workflow going in Photoshop.

Putting multiple lines on a single layer isn't a problem, but for what you're doing it sounds like you'd be better off using vanishing point.
