I like 'em a lot. The pot-of-scenery series is something I think might be a great success on postcards or so. "Different" would make a superb poster (nive dof you got there!), the conductor of time is more recognisable abstract, and the sandbox is a very difficult composition.

Good to see you back!
Which soft did you use?

Thx =) :} :D

well they where all rendered in 3ds max 6
And the imported in to photoshop for some postpro

on the pot of images there where whery litle done in postpro but a bit more on the others.

Rock on

looks very nice, i like the pot-serie a lot, also the wallpapers look nice. Some nice humor in the sandbox :righton: . Just one little thing: the leaves on the tree on that lake image aren't realistic, I think there aren't enough leaves if you look at the thickness of the tree itself.

Inspiring work abbe! I love the Pot 'o Scenery and...actually all of them! Well, I off to continuing my study of Strata 3D.

Great work with the scenery series....
I intented to make something like that, but modeling the things I see at the street, here in Copacabana, rio de janeiro, were I live.
Things like traffic lights, orange plastic trash cans, huge buildings, etc
and them sell it for anyone who wanted to use it as a virtual scenery [the person would need only to add the characters]
ready to be used [lightning, textures, looping animations, etc...]
Have you ever tought about that, seeling it for a reasonable price?
I think you should try it, you seem to have enough skill, and that?s good also for portfolio reasons...
Cheers

Holy crap. I remember seeing those, or at least one of them.
Can't remember if I said so, but it's a fantastic idea, and you have done some excellent execution.

I might have to take a stab at it one of these days.

Great "free-source" attitude there abbe!
I think we share the same ideal there. :D
Many people who achieve a professional
Skill at the CG Area don?t share enough of their knowledge [only for most expensive packages; I have a discreet certificate for a 3dsmax 6 fundamental course - only 40 hours of classes, this lasted 2 weeks and cost me around 600 R$ or 200 U$ which I think is sightly expensive, because there are many other courses for you to do [miniatures modeling, landscaping. arquitetural, animation, etc, etc,etc....]
Some seem to be very individualistic, but I think that sharing
your knowledge freely 'spread the words" about your site better,
and you would be glad to be generous with other people.

When I said selling a scenery, it means a full feature scenery,I meant: Full day animated lighting, wind, smokes, big sets like a whole avenue, different cameras angles [pre-defined locations],different archive times like mpeg particles shots, shadows matte mpeg, etc...]
Sell all that in different packges for different needs, ater that you should expect to have some profits out from your loooongs hours of work... [sleepy] [innocent] [confused] \:] ....
The independent animation is growing all around the globe,
Do anyone here recognizes the "Animamundi" festival?

Cheers everyone! :D

Thx stoker =) if you do post it up becaus i would like to se it to =)

tak yea i know what you are saying =) i dident spend mnay hours writing all my tuts to make mony from them or some thing like that i just think its funn to help people and one of the best thing is when some one post some thing they created form one of my tuts or just sas hi and tell you that they liked the tut and so on =) it's then you get the pay for you many hours of writng =)

Rock on

Hi Abbe... I think that you have terrific potential with the pot of scenery series... however I also think that you could put some more work into them first... the concept it's self is nothing short of brilliant...

I would maybe look into making a variety of pots for this work, differtent shapes, textures etc... likened to bonzai plants not having all the same planter pots... ;)

but yea, this concept is so good that the little extra work done here and there would go along way in wrapping these up for sale... for a variety of purpose... Cards, as Erik has suggested, Calendars come to mind here... maybe hop on the Bank train and use em for a design for a set of calendars for a local city bank... etc...

good luck with these worx... brilliant idea and work thus far... keep it going :)

Great stuff. As said, adding some different pot styles will just contribute to their individuality. On the other hand, the same type of pot binds them together. How about making one for Rastafarians - pot pot? 8} Great potential with these - I'd think them very marketable once refined. Might as well make some cash from something you enjoy.

hey abbe,

links in first post didn't work for me :{ -- got an error message "could not find page!" -- would like to see them.
