I had a dream of a distant planet in space and as usual wanted to bring it to life. It reminded me of Neptune, one of my favorite planets due to its association with the Roman God of water and the sea. Of course I did take some liberties with the background as my dreams aren't as lucid and vivid as this image. I'll be the first to admit when I screw up. The banding that is present on the terrain is because I didn't start this image off in 16-bit mode in Photoshop. Now some people might say to switch the modes in mid-composition but it doesn't work that way. When graphics are made in 8-bit mode, they stay 8-bit. More on the subject here.
