Spread image like butter

Hi there,

I hope somebody has a great workflow for this one. I have two elements that need to be blended together, a 'plan' photograph of toast with a bite taken out of it and then another photograph that needs to look like its spread onto the toast (a picture of an orang utan in the forest). I have tried some manual blending using different brushes but is there a good way to make this look convincing?

Try play with the layer blending styles and modes. Make sure the Orangutan image is above the toast. You may have to create/use 2 or copies of the oragutan image in different modes to get the effect you need.

You might take a look at the liquify filter.

i use smudge tool about 2 minutes (much better results if time used wisely) this was just a quick test, is that what you mean?
