Stitching pictures?

Is there a way to put up two or more pictures on the photoshop work screen (like the example below) and stitch them together using a rectangular marquee tool instead of just blending them ps.jpg
 
I don't understand what you want. The problem I am having is in the way you described the task:

a) The way the term, "stitching" is commonly used is almost certainly different from what you have in mind. The conventional use of the term is to make a panorama out of several pictures taken within seconds of each other, keeping your position constant, and simply swiveling around in angle.

b) However, your two pictures were taken from two different positions; and,

c) They were taken at different times of the day.

What do you want your final image to look like? The best way to convey this to us is to find an example on the web and show us.
