Tracer fire

Hi All, does anyone know how could I recreate the tracer fire over the top of an image to recreate a battle scene, similar to the tracer fire in these photos,,I have tried searching youtube for a tutorial, but cannot find any...
any help would be very much appreciated,,

If you have a play aroung with the blending options I'm sure you'll get the effect you require!

When every few shots there is one that emits a bright light signal, so you can see the "trace" of where shots are going. I think only rapid-firing automatic weapons use these.
