Specific Transparent graphic Edit

Hey guys!

Thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to make the inside of the graphic transparent. Not the inside of the circle, just the graphic. I made the graphic into a custom shape thinking that would work but it hasn't.

Here is my try saved as PNG with transparency. I smoothed the edges just a bit so hope this meets your needs

Looking for the inside of the logo (the M and I) to be transparent, instead of black, and the rest remain the same.
