Thats basically what a HDRI map is many out there for photo studios and outdoor natural. Just create a sky and a nice HDRI Map. There are even apps for your phone to create HDRI maps taking 360 degree panaramas

I know HDRI. I'm thinking more on if its possible to add a screen effect to the spots and floodlights on one of my 3d apps.....
