I have been trying to use the Custom Shape Tool for the first time and I'm running into a few problems.
I chose the Wave shape and figured out how to draw it the way I want it but I'd like to change the opacity of the colour I chose but don't see a place to do that.
The other thing I noticed is that the lines come out very rough and ragged looking is that normal or is there a way to get a cleaner look.
Thanks

select the color, select and draw the shape. on the layers pallette you'll see a small window that reads
'opacity' click on that and a slider will pop-up either move the slider with your mouse, or use either the left/right or up/down arrows. this will adjust the color density. The lines are jagged because they're raster images. The higher ppi you use, the smoother the image. If you require those clean crisp edges, you'd best consider a vector app such as Illustrator.

the first image is 72 ppi. the second is 600 ppi copy them and look at them in a viewer.

Limey,

I believe the 'roughness' is the vector shape's outline you are seeing. Photoshop adds that to indicate that it is active. Try hitting Command H (Control on PC ) to hide that line and see if your complaint is resolved.

It worked great Ronmatt got just the results I wanted. The roughness disappeared once it was no longer active Welles.
Thanks to both of you.
I have another question related to my project but I'd better start another topic with it.
