morning everyone,

new to this forum but professional user of Photoshop. Need to pick your brains on what laptop to get to use for photoshop and other adobe family softwares?
I'm looking for something very light (to carry around), yet capable to handle the "workload". Currently my favorite is Dell XPS 13 2in1.
What do you think?

Hi and welcome to PSG

Looking at the Dell XPS, it's only got 8GB of RAM and doesn't have a dedication graphics card, although PS will work fine with the on-board graphics and RAM under normal workloads it may struggle with heavy workloads, you mentioned other Adobe products, what are they exactly?
Another thing to remember is that PS doesn't scale well with high resolution displays

You may want check out here

Older versions of PS do not have the option to scale for high resolution displays so this means that everything will look tiny on screen and the latest versions only gives you two options either scale to 100% or 200% and no in between

Windows 10 allows you to Override high DPI scaling

I like to use eBay and our version of it TradeMe. You can use their extesive filters to home in on a short list which you can then research. I start off with Gaming laptops, because they have features that work well with Photoshop, and they have that economy of scale thing going on which makes for more bang for your buck. When you get a short list, then you can shop around for best price.

I've had my current laptop for several years now, and it still runs all the CC apps comfortably.

For Photoshop, I'd recommend the Dell XPS9570 as it offers many high-end features that you need for photo editing work and much more. With 8th Gen Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and GeForce GTX 1050Ti, this laptop is worth to buy.
