What's the difference between regular filters and smart filters. ?

I have a query for the gurus. What's the difference between regular filters and smart filters.
 
@IamSam @thebestcpu So smart filters are similar to smart objects and we can create the stuff non-districtively, right?
That is correct. Filters when part of a Smart Object are names Smart Filters and has all the features for non destructive editing (plus some other feathers as well such as per filter blending mode and opacity setting.
