Hello,

I am going to be purchasing a Windows laptop and will be running Photoshop CC on it. It has a 15" display and my choices are 1920x1080 or 2880x1620.

I would rather get the 2880x1620 display but am concerned that the UI will not display in a useable fashion with PSCC. Is it a workable situation with a display of this resolution?

or

Would you opt for the 1920x1080 display?

Its a big purchase for me so i would love to get your input.

Thanks so much,

rick

I don't believe that the bigger display should give you problems. With the retina macbook pro, there aren't any resolution issues, so the same should follow with this laptop!

I wouldn't be to concern about the screen resolution to much ( although it dos matter a bit ), but more that the lap top can cope with Photoshop's requirements when its installed on your system. just check it will run OK before you get the lap top, ram, memory, processor. graphics card etc.

All new computers pretty much come with 4GB of ram with pretty good graphics and processors. You shouldn't have any problems with that either.

I have to disagree with you. If you work with more than a very small number of layers, and/or images whose pixel dimensions are greater than 2000-3000 pixels on a side, and/or use numerically intensive plugins, you can easily run into problems with only four GB of memory. I am currently at 16 GB, and am about to upgrade to 64 GB.

My iMac is maxed out at 16 GB and I have no issues. Wish I could run 64 GB!
