nothing to it really just get some screen capture software do your normal work flow to create an image whilst recording it and then speed the video up I am trying to do a picture now like your style but guess what I cant do it of the top of my head so trying to find tutorials apparently doing a search for turning photo into a fantasy picture is not specific enough to find something of any use> I id have to turn my Adult website filter on though as I got pore porn than photoshop tutorials. By the way I am from England and English is now almost the 2nd most spoken language here

Yes I know, its not really easy to find tutorials on the webb. I dont think my fantasy work is any special from others, but of course we all get our own style.
But it would be fun to make this speed video, I will talk to my friend JgraphNet and maby he can explain more to me about it.

Oh my goodness!! Welcome Cindy. I´m Swedish too. I am a total newbie trying to learn. I just looked at the links to your art and lost my breath. Fantastic!! TEACH ME!! lol

Wow, like you wrote in your introduction, I have seen things that people have made and wondered how it was possible, I am amazed at your work, you should make tutorials. :)

Nice to see you./ Vafann

Oh thank you so much Vafann! Nice to see more members from Sweden
I have done a few tutorials for hair painting. But I think they are not so good. I still train at painting hair, I think its difficult to make it natural. But I will make more tutorial about it.

I have been asked serval times about tutorials of my fantasy work. And I like to do it as soon as I have time. When I create my work it takes hours, and hours, and I understand that a tutorial will take some time to finish. Especially If I shall do it in english. My english is very bad.

My work is seldom perfect. I often make mistakes that I discover much later, or as someone else point out, so I have a lot to learn myself. But I think it´s just fun because I love to learn more and get better.

I am also very self-critical, and it is really only a few images that I feel really happy with.
But of course I will answer questions if you or someone else needs advice.

Just remember that we are all working on our own way. And what I do is absolutely not necessarily the right thing.

Below you can see one of my latest work. And this one I really like myself. It was so very fun to create this.
I mostly buy all my stock images. The bodys, hats and the dogs are bought from dreamstime.com

uh...uh...WOW!! HOW do you do things like that?? I suppose it involves a lot of selecting, cutting out, and pasting in, but it all looks so completely seamless. And it must be really hard to get the lighting right. all I can say is wow.

Yes, it is important to get the light and shadows right. But I can not say I'm good at it. But I'll learn eventually, I hope.
The more stock images to use in an image, the harder it is because everything has to be illuminated from the right direction and so on.

And yes, it is a lots to cut out but I have good patience, so I do not think it is so hard.

The real job starts when I get all the different elements to blend into a whole.
Then I have to think about shadows, brightness, contrast, blur, colors, etc..

I usually work a long time with a picture. When it is finished I put it away and next day I take another look. Then I often see something as not look right in the picture.

I have thrown away many began pictures that I have not felt happy with ..
It could simply be that I do not get the color right. Sometimes it just dont work, but it is simply to accept. Admittedly, I am very stubborn and would rather not give up. But sometimes I do.

Well, I have to say that I have been very inspired by your work, and I am going to try and have the patience to start some kind of project and take my time on it. Thank you again so much! :)

Yes, give it some time. You dont have to hurry when you create your work. Patience is good :) But the most important is to have fun during the process :)

when you say you have done some hair painting tutorials where can I find these I just use a pre set brush to paint it in but not so great unless your blending it into already existing hair love the 3 dogs pic

You will find four hair tutorials in my blog

My blog is in Swedish language, but the hair tutorials is in English.

just out of curiosity where do you get all your photos from do you take them or are they stock images

do you sell your work or is it just for fun as it will get expensive buying all your images

Most of my work is just for fun. But I have also sold some as book covers.
My work under Swedish models categori is some of the work I have done to photographers, and also some under the children categori

Yes it is expensive to buy stocks. But I buy subscription for a month and then I get a better price.

cool if only I could get paid to do photoshop all day unfortunately I have no special skills in it just your average all rounder that dablles here and there

... I have never done this kind of speed art, but I have seen a couple. It looks really fun :) ... I will talk to my friend JgraphNet and maby he can explain more to me about it.
You will need a screen recorder such as Camtasia - as I'm using for the video tutorials and online classes - but that means $$$, or the free one: Cam Studio. But then again, you would have to learn how they work and such. Alternatively, you could work on my machine but then I would have to bring it with me down to Eskilstuna ...

>My blog is in Swedish language, but the hair tutorials is in English.

Perhaps we will need to fill in with presentations of the tutorials in English now since they are out in this forum.
Or, you could link to them in the Forum Tutorials section... ?

>Most of my work is just for fun. But I have also sold some as book covers.

Sorry for budding in, but this could give the wrong impression...
Truth is that you are more or less constantlly working with comissions and requests from photographers and models - Swedish as well as European and from the US - making you a full-time-plus Photoshop artist.
Periodicaly it's bloody well impossible to reach you ...
And beside that, you also do your own artwork and eventually sell your personal work for book covers, calenders etc...

haha yes I know. I am overwhelmed with comissions from time to time. And I also know that I am often completely unresponsive. :cool2:

But I got a question about all stocks, if I take the pic myself and if I sell my work.
Usually I dont sell my own finished work, but it has happend.

When I do comissions I get the base photo from the costumer (the model), and then I buy stocks to build up the backrounds and the details.

But most of the work I have at my homepage is made just for my own.

My comissions job I usually do not add up on the website. I have posted some, but far from all. It may depend on various things that the customer does not want me to use the images on my website.

So the fact is that most of the pictures there are pictures I made for my own sake.

But I have had some requests also of my already finish work to Book Covers for example, thats right. :)

About my tutorials. I have not many of them. But the hair tutorials is in English. My bad English. :mad2: Except from one "The Asian hair" as you where so kind and helped me finish.

haha I am a little tired and I think my english is worse then usual this evening. Sorry for that ;)
