if someone who doesn't speak english very well comes on an english speaking forum, instead of trying to say something in english, and making it very unclear, they should say it in their native language instead, because google translate would probably be a lot clearer

just a thought

From the forum rules:
"This forum is to be English Only. Please do not post in another language. Use an online translator if you must."

We suggest people use Google translator and then post the English translation here.
That's simpler than everyone that's trying to read the message having to copy and paste the message in the translator.

I feel the responsibility is upon the new comer to do the translations prior to submitting posts here.

I'm always surprised when someone posts here who admits that they struggle with English and wonder if there are not equivalent forums in their language. That said, I think it's fantastic when a person goes to that kind of trouble to post here!! Some of our regular posters are not native speakers and they add spice and diversity to our home on the web.

So to all those who post here from non-English speaking countries, welcome! We'll do our best to get through the language barrier.

Although....I dunno about you Aussies. You SAY you're speaking English but.....:bustagut:

American English is all mashed up? Really? Hmmmm.... This from the people who add an "O" to everything and call it language. Right, Paul-O?

Humorous I get, but gentle?? I dated an Australian guy for a while and he kept referring to the GAFA. I thought it was a national park or something. Then I found out what GAFA really meant and fell down laughing.

In truth there's nothing gentle about Oz or its citizens. Whacking great spiders that rear up and bite you; sharks and octopi with blue rings; all manner of nasty snakes, crocs, jellyfish that make you die in agony. What's not to love?

all those things you listed only attack people that come for a holiday to Australia?
so if you live here those animals are not dangerous :cool2:

Well..... I guess I really should see if I can get my money back for those tickets I bought, then, if only visitors get attacked. ;)

You guys know I'm just teasing you cuz I love you.

Language, of course, is knowledge, and in our world today knowledge is one of the key factors in competitiveness. Brains and knowledge are what create the prosperity and growth we tend to take for granted. In an advanced industrial society in an increasingly interdependent world, the knowledge of other languages becomes indispensable. Just think of how the advent of the Internet has changed our lives. For the last few years, millions of people across the world, who share common interests, are able to communicate with each other and exchange ideas. Not only are they able to do this due to the various technological advances, but also because they share a common language.
