    When invoking the Black & White function, you have the option of using the default preset or several optional presets. You can also opt to adjust each color individually, to include Reds, Yellows, Greens, Cyans, Blues and Magentas.

    I try to stay away form the lasso tool, but when I absolutely have to use it, I add in a temporary red outer stroke (layer styles) afterwards to see it if my selection picked up any stray pixels. I can turn it off after removing any strays.

    The selection is likely using some feathering. Set feather to 0 and turn off anti-aliasing for your selection tool.

    I like the scent one, but I feel the backgrounds inside them should be somewhat translucent so as to show what is behind the bottles. It would give a more inclusive projection of each bottle being in the room.

    You can link text boxes together so text can overflow from one to another, but not to have text replicated in multiple boxes. May I suggest a simple copy/paste?

    Are you using a layer blend mode other than Normal on the affected layer? I have seen this be the culprit to exactly what you are describing many times.

    You can make multiple layers with varying degrees of effect and then mask each one onto the base layer as required to get the effect you desire.
