    1. Click on the color gradient, the red color will appear in the 'color' box (2) 2. click on the color box, the color picker will appear and the color picker tool will be activated so you can use it on the whole screen

    You'll need to add a layer mask to your blurred selection layer and brush away that line with a soft brush. When applying a blur to a selection there's going to be 'spill' at the borders of the selection. In fact you should brush away the hair part of the selection since it is slightly blurred...
