    Hi IamSam, Just a thought but I noticed that there is a duplication in your edit. The small items at the end of the lazy chairs near the smallest grass umbrellas. I have been slammed for doing this in other forums but I think it could be an easy fix. The more eyes the better :)

    I will do a small tutorial for the background, but I don't know what effect you are referring to on the player. It just looks like a normal photograph. If the photograph is not an "out of camera" shot, only the photographer would know how it was processed, if at all.

    It appears to be just a cutout of the player placed on a background. There are many cutout tutorials on the internet. The background is made on a new layer with the pound symbol typed multiple times. I see a graduated effect on the background which you can do with a new layer and a shadow added...

    Number 3. To me it looked tilted so straightened and cleaned up. Added more image to left to give more positive space to the little boy. Added blue tint to sky. I have without blue sky if wanted.

    No 7. Straightened and recolored. removed the spots and stains. Brightened the faces and lifted the shadows.
