    Catalogue image archive soft?

I use Picasa. Google seems to do almost everything good. It even recognizes most Raw formats. Its quick and easy to use, all the things we like. It will do some basic editing if you want, or you can open in photoshop with a simple add on. Burning is as simple as selecting folders and clicking on...

    Name-in-Name

Very cool idea. I threw this together to give you an idea maybe how to take it to the next level. Basically the one name is a glass and the second is a gradient to give a cool look.

    Messing around

My wife loves Asian fans, the big giant ones that go on the wall. So I thought I'd try making one from scratch. This is what I came up with. The final was perfect for a wallpaper for her computer. Allen.

    Couple more samples

Here are a couple more images that I am rather happy with. First is an old looking map. This actually is a symbolic image as I am hoping this is a career change for me. If all goes well, I'll be starting a course in Cartography in the fall. So the elements are all inspired by the hopeful change...

    Hello All

Its funny the second image is actually just a test. I starting teaching a friend how to some stuff in PS, he said "this is what I want to make" and gave me a link. So I went hunting for the elements, threw it together and gave him the PSD I came up with so he could get a feel for how the layers...

    How is it?

I have been helping. We did the first image by me walking him through a pic, then he came up with that alone, awesome I say. The second he showed me what he wanted to make, I figured it out and sent him my PSD. He has altered it all himself, again impressive. Number 3, its all cruz. Amazing for...

    Resolution

What resolution do most of you use for your default when starting a new image in photoshop. I've done tons of stuff using the default 72, and they look good, just wondering what is best. Thanks.

I agree, hard to find a good active forum. This one seemed active to me as well which is my reason for joining. Only time will tell for sure of course but they seem like a great bunch here.

    Yet another newbie

I am a newbie here myself, but I do agree that actions are great. They are not just for something you do all the time, but also very helpful for something you do for the first time but feel you may need again. Keep the names creative so you know what it does ;) Good luck.

    Tips on Effects and Techniques

Can you give us any more details what your trying to do. You trying to reproduce this ad exactly, or just something cool like it. To do abstract stuff like in that image there are hundreds of tutorials out there, you can also often find abstract brushes that can be added to your PS.

    Hello All

I am a fairly adept PS user but often find myself looking to learn more. This looked like a great place to discuss PS techniques etc. so I joined up. I enjoy discussing techniques with others, and do like sharing my work from time to time. Here are a couple of my most recent pics. The moon...
