    Help! Confused with slices

I think the second slice after the modification didn't hold or you just need to open up the image box to show the rest of the image since it was modified.

    Square Thumbnails in PS8 (CS1)

Thanks hoogle, My problem is that I have a criteria I want it always cropped to the short side..then trimmed to make a square. It's for consistant thumbnails and most important info tends to me in the center. Right now I use two actions one for vertical and one for horizontal... I'd like PS to...

    Square Thumbnails in PS8 (CS1)

Hi, I've been away for some time... good to be back. I need to batch a good number of thumbnails for a website. What I need are square 75x75 thumbnails make of various different image dimensions 640x480 and 480x640. I found some PS scripts on the internet but they all use newer versions of PS...

Layer Mask question (seems it should be so easy)

You've lost me with the layer mask? I don't see where the layer mask comes in? Just so you'll know what I am talking about. Open your image. add a blank layer above it. On the blank layer draw a puzzle piece with a hard black brush. Now to this layer with the puzzle add a bevel adjustment. So...

Layer Mask question (seems it should be so easy)

Jim, I'm not sure but it seems that you are making the path lines but that you aren't using them. You need to stroke the path lines. Open a new layer before stroking the path lines with a 3-5 px stroke. Then you can add the bevel look or what-ever you have in mind. Lasa

    Selecting Hair...

First do only the head since the body can be pulled out with the pentool super clean. If you use the level adjustment and pull the Grey to the left the hair becomes very manageable. Darken the background with the burn tool set to shadow 25%, then do the person with the dodge tool set to...

please help how to do this

I would think that the best way to extract this would be using the pentool..long flowing lines. Extracted the dress then added the sample color as the background..gave the dress layer a slight s-curve. Just ideas, Lasa

    background extraction

I remember Mask Pro 3 being so-so would be interesting to see if its got better...very interesting. How about somebody uploading a clear clean picture with a difficult extraction and everybody uses their best extraction technique on it to see how and what works. I know some people here swear by...

please help how to do this

Can you post a sample of what you have to work with? You'll probably need to extract the image from its current background or at least mask it out...can't really help you without seeing the type of background it on. Might be able to use the EXTRACT tool and/or Quick mask and/or Pen tool... Lasa

    Photopshop Help

I think you'd be better off removing everything then simply re-typing the words completely. Trying to duplicate a already compressed image text look isn't impossible but it entails a lot of trial and error until you get it right... I did a shaby job on the background but I wanted to post a...

Can't get a template to work, please help

Have you tried using the move tool? To keep the proportions correct while reduing hold the shift key down, while pulling the corner handles in. If you don't see corner handles..make sure that "show bounding box" is checked. Hope it helps, Lasa

How do you convert only a certain part of a color photo to black and white?

Another very easy way is to paint with either the default black or white set to color mode. It will convert any painted area to BW. Lasa

    glass effect

When ever I'm working with glass..I use the BLEND OPTION..then Blend IF.. Used docilebob light bulb as an example: Duplicate the light bulb layer. I'll separate the little slider triangles (alt-pull appart) then move the half white slider to taste and set that layer mode to screen Then I'll go...

how do i make a face shorter

If you mean this..(see attached) make a selection with the circle or rectangle tool around the area you want to squish. Then with the transform tool grab (do not shift-key) grab the middle handle and pull down. I had the persons image on its own layer so it squishes easyly. Lasa
