    Shaded area outside image when pasting into word from PS

    When I edit an image in PS then paste it into word, there is a shaded field outside of that image that nothing can enter (see attached).     PS CC 2019 opening documents.

    PS CC 2019 opens the template window everytime I click on an image or try to open it from within PS. Then from the template window... And then whether I click on a template or create it opens up another template. In other words, I cant open images now in ps. Ijust end up with a bunch of blank...

    Just bought adobe subscription for book I am writing

    I havent had formal PS training or anything but it has been fairly intuitive for what Ive needed. Thus my registration and posting a question elsewhere on this forum. Thank you to everyone who donates their time helping new users like me here.
