    Duplicating or moving a layer makes it jump to top of list

    When I duplicate a layer, or move it's order, it automatically scrolls my layers list to make it at the top. Is there any way to stop that? I'm using photoshop CC.

    3D 3d extrusion with different shapes on top and bottom?

    Thanks, those were helpful. I kind of wanted it to be an extrusion (or repousse). But I just realized Photoshop wouldn't know where to connect the edges, like for a square on one end, and triangle on the other. So I'll use your suggestion, Chris, and just manually makes the sides .

    Ah! I opened the same picture I was working on, and it's now reappearing again.

    That closed it right then, but when I open photoshop again, or open a new picture, it's still showing up. This is perplexing.

    Every time I open Photoshop, the Timeline window shows up. If I close it, it still reappears when I open a new file or next time I open photoshop again. How do i permanently stop it from appearing?
