I had a play around with different settings, and applied my trials to a image from our side of house.
The first is the original.

I did it by using the pen tool on some of the leaves making a new layer from that and enlarging it to make it look in front of the original giving depth.
I then combined the layers as one, then made a duplicate of that new image, the second i then dropped all the colour and de saturated it.

I then did a filter stylize extrude to the layer and then made the two layers as one via overlay and made some more adjustments with the colours and hue settings.

Nice Job Paul

That's a lot of improvement in colors and image sharpening, try blurring and darkening the background a bit, probably adding a deep of field
like effect, i think it will suit the image really well.
