Hi, I got a job to create designs for concrete tiles, check out the attached image for example , I don't have any experience of this kind of work so plz provide me some tips and also tell me is this even possible in photoshop ?

they won't provide me with any kind of data but just these info to start with :

and I have to create some designs then..

Looking forward for a reply..DSC00168.JPG

I would start by recreating the shape of the bricks, see if they have proper templates etc and then build mosaic forms from that. Also look at parquet floor design, same principal but in wood. Obviously designs are dependant on brick colour and ultimately brick shape. As before though, try and get/make some brisk templates, use these are a pattern or brush in Ps and overlay them onto your desired patterns.

I just Googled 'Pattern bricks' and found lots of images of various shaped bricks. I grabbed these:

also found one of the more intricate designs and traced it in Ps to make this:

You could make templates up of each brick layout and then overlay the brick patterns to work out the final appearance and brick colour requirement. If it's any help, I am willing to give you a hand a little later buddy.

No offense intended but if you have to ask the question, than you shouldn't be taking or even soliciting the work. Tell them right away to find a professional to get the job done properly.

You should only take on jobs you know you can complete successfully....

This is no easy job.

@Remote-Medic
My best is on vanishing point filter to make it perspective ? need more help mate. can't get the natural color afterwords laying the pattern even though I used a custom preset pattern (saved it earlier from the image above)

@everyone else

I know man this job is tough but I really need this :( I doubt this has something to do with autocad ?

Hi Nem,

I think I get what you mean, I have been playing in Ps and have made a pattern to fill a blank workspace, then I chose my colours and basically filled the areas in to make the brick pattern. Added some texture in layer styles and then transformed with the perspective settings.

Here's the Pattern I made:

and here is what I came up with:

Obviously the colours need a bit of matching to what's available but a custom swatch should do that one fine. Are they looking for basic drawings or do they want to see the pattern laid down in a garden type enviroment buddy?

woww, good one, see nothing hard, one question though how you managed to keep the shapes intact when you transformed it perspective ?

and yes they want the pattern laid down somewhere, for example :

I was getting mad and I was thinking it's really tough to recreate a natural thing but with you help I think I can do this... as they have few limited designs and 3 colors so you can check their website in the first post to get more ideas..

will see you in the morning. 4:18 here and I almost gave up on this and was designing my facebook timeline cover :p instead

Well I'm pleased you managed to get the required help you needed to finish this job...

Good work R-M for stepping in to help Nemesis.
