Been using photoshop 7 for years as a complete newby to do colouring of prints etc.

Now i have an issue i need help with. i need change a filesize but trying not to downsize the image if possible.

As i said im NOT a photoshop guru,ive never got passed the colour enhancement of personal photos etc.

Is there a way to redice filesize from maybe 10Kb to 6 Kb and keep the image at 80 Pixels sq.??

What is the formate .jpg,.gif?

try saving as>flie>Save as>jpg and when prompted use the slider to bring the size down

Yes its Jpeg and yes i save it and drop the slider to 0 but its still around 9Kb..

Im trying to resize an image for ANOTHER forum. I got the pic from the net and it works on most forums at 90x90x10Kb .. This new forum demands 90x90x6Kb. Ive resized it to 80 sq but its still on 9Kb LOL...

Driving me nuts... any help please ?

Try saving as a GIF.

Go to File|Save for Web and Devices

A Gif is 256 colors, MAX.
It sounds like you're creating an Avatar and at 90X90 you'll never notice the loss of colors.
If it's still to large reduce the colors more.

Let me know how you make out.
 
In my haste i forgot to put my avatar here ,im a member now and i LOVE the advice here..eventho i bought PS7 many years back it still serves me well.

YES its an avatar that i got off the net. I tried to post it here the other day but something about i havent posted enough to post pics yet.

I use it on every forum but this particular one tightens the belt a little..

I'll go NOW and do as youve said. I'll get back.

I get on here as much as possible. Ive only ever used it for simple things but now im playing with the program since ive hit the video section on here..

It works but i need much more hands on .What looks easy on video needs lots of practice..
