How can I change the color of a black and white sketch drawing?

Hello all,

Baptizing the forum with my first question. I created my first simple drawing in photoshop by retracing a picture on a business card.

The result is the following, which I mistakenly traced in black.

I actually want the black to be navy blue and I can't figure out how to simply change the color on the black "lines."

I thought I could do a select all, inverse, and then color it, but that didn't work.

Any suggestions on how to easily do this?

Thanks!

There are a number of ways, a selective color adjustment layer is just one.

Thanks for the quick response.

Went into photoshop, and from the menu, selected layer/new adjustment layer/selective color.

A dialog box appeared that has some fields:
A field where you give it a name, then a checkbox that says:
Use previous layer to create clipping mask

a color dropdown box, and a mode dropdown box.
Also opacity.

I clicked the checkbox
then clicked ok, but didn't see any color changes.
Obviously, i don't know much about these selections so god knows what I have to select.
Found some youtube videos using a search for selective color, but can't quite achieve how your screenshot looks.

I'll keep on searching.

When the dialog box comes up for new layer, ignore all that and just click OK. You don't need it to be a clipping layer unless the selective color will affect other layers.

Then just copy exactly what you see in Hawkeye's screen capture. I guarantee you it will work.

ibclare, thanks for the tip.
I was changing the color to blue on that dialog box.
It all works thanks to hawkeye too.
Photoshop is daunting!
