How do I achieve this effect in Photoshop?

I want to color an object in Photoshop and I would like it to look like the tree in this image, with darker edges. I know I can do this manually with the brush tool, but is there an even quicker and easier way of achiving this effect? Thanks in advance!

You could try using Inner Glow on the layer fx Options. Set it to a slightly darker color than the main section, and play with the size & blend until it looks how you want it.

If you are trying to make a tree like the image you posted. Each of the green shapes will need to be seperate, not one big shape.

Or this...

Basically, have your tree top shapes on one layer. Create a green gradient and then double click that layer, Gradient overlay and apply the graident. And set it the reverse and radial.

WOW, you even answered my question with a video! Thank you! :) I will try this!

I´ve already played around with inner glow, but I wasn´t able to get a nice looking result, so I thought this was not the way to go. I probably didn´t do it right... But since you say it is possible to achive this effect with inner glow I´ll try again!

Thanks! :-)

Now I´ve tried the inner glow and the gradient overlay. I like both effects a lot and I will use them both in the future.

Thank you so much for teaching me! I´m actually blown away by all the great help I received in this forum!
