How do I paint Repousséd 3D layers?

I'm having trouble making something that resembles small slabs of squared glass, I've downloaded the materials pack and there is a glass option but it's completely transparent. I also can't find any tutorials on the subject!

Selecting an painting an area doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions? Perhaps some decent tutorials on the subject?

Here's an example.

Thanks

Yeah I understood the reason in the first place but nothings sillier than being preventing what you are trying to achieve at the moment when you are a genuine user.

Shall I just inbox this guy then or what?

3D stuff on photoshop doesn't seem to be all that thoroughly documented at the moment.

vincewentwrong, what is your problem? Did you do your model in PS or other prorgam? Whats "materials pack"? What is "glass option"? AFAIK, there is a Gloss option, not "glass" for textures...

Did you try the Reparameterize...?

I swear I replied to this... ARgh, I must not have pressed send.

I created it in photohop using the Repousse tool... I just want to paint in with a glass effect.

I also downloaded an extra batch of materals from which I believe was the photoshop site, they included glass etc in the pack.

Hi Vince, welcome to the forum. Sometimes you have to be patient

See where SCTRWD lives? We're often on way different times, even days, here.

Also, as Steve said, you may not be able to post links, but you can post an image at any time.

"nothings sillier than being preventing what you are trying to achieve at the moment when you are a genuine user."

If you take the time to read about the forum, you'll see it is just links. You can upload an image even if you have to download it to your computer first. There is nothing silly about spam. It is hard enough to sort out the genuine users from the spammers and the frivolous. So hang on and I'm sure you'll get some ideas about this. Sometimes the people who can give the advice are just not on the forum when you are. Thanks for coming by to ask for help. I hope you get what you need.

vincewentwrong, I really do not understand what you mean by "paint in with a glass effect":frown:

You'd better post your PSD and try to describe in details what you wanted, what you did and what you got...
