Hi

I made the attached design for my buyer for web purposes. Today I got a request from him saying that he wants to print this in a magazine and requires the same design with these specs

High-resolution PDF format only
in Halftones: 133 line screen
in Resolution: 300 dpi
in All fonts and images must be embedded.

Is it possible? Otherwise recreating this in AI from scratch will be quite time consuming.

What is the resolution of the image at this point? To meet the 133 LPI requirement 300 PPI would be more than adequate. The standard is usually 2X the LPI so around 266 should work, as far as I know. If you designed this for web use, I would think you'll need to start over.

This is information that should have be given to you before you began work. The first question should always be, what is the end use.

The original dpi of PSD was 72 as it was only meant for web purposes. As I have mentioned, the buyer has just decided to send this into print also.

Then it would seems to me he should be responsible for your cost to duplicate it for printing. If you do recreate it, saving in PDF Press Quality should meet his specs.

By the way. There is a good lesson is this for you, as our computers have plenty of power and memory, always work in high resolution.

My standard is 300-400 PPI regardless of the end use. You can always downsize without penalty but as you know, the reverse is not true.

Thanks for your nice tips. I will definitely bear this in mind. Part of my post still needs your help and that is about the ability of embedding fonts within Photoshop to create print ready PDF. Is that possible?
