Need to resize a high quality squared photo into a rectangular website banner..

Hey Guys,

I have a high quality squared image that has a dimension size of 4548 x 2972, I need to resize this image so I can use it as a banner onto a website without making it look too messy. The banner size I need on the website is 926 x 323..

Are they any guidelines or tips on how to go about doing this in photoshop.. Any help to point me in the right direction will help..

It will be distorted if you try to resize it to those dimensions.
