I'd appreciate some links if you know other free adresses...

Nice work, Nikkie...

Anyways: you Poserpro's can perhaps help me out.

What is happening to the eyes here? I suppose the eyebrows are a transmap problem which I can try to solve, but the yes textures??? (Yes, they are for V3!)

Hey, nikkie.... looking good. Looks like you used the mildog there. Which saggi character is that?

Erik... its somthing to do with the transparency adjustment allright( in the materials window - select eyebrows in the material field, raise the transparency min and max)

as for the eye reflect - select the eye in the materials window and selct white for hilite color. If your using a reflect map, load the map, select multiply thru lights and probably adjust the strenght.

Hehee...just like the cavalry in them ol'fashioned western movies, Vee arrives when needed.
Great info. I'll have to read it a few times, but I'll manage.

BTW: Thanks to your mentioning of DAZ' offers, I got sassy hair now (unfortunately not for my own head...) and the real hair maps for it, and the UniversalTextureConverter.
Still would like to have that MorphMaKer...

About that light comin' out of her nostrils: I know, I know...
But I did not know that free section at RDNA. Must be ages since I last visited that site...

Vee: thank you! 8))

Erik, hope it helps... kinda "loaded right now", hope my fingers are coherent 8} :bustagut: ....

I'm downloading Daz's wild&messy hair right now. Hope it's worth the $1.99..... cheap ain't I???? ;\

Just come back from www.rdna.com

free membership indeed, and in the freestuff I also found many "poor man's HDRI files" for Poser.
Can't Bryce open Poser files?

I don't suppose they're "real" HDRI's but they might show a way to a solution...

Erik, I think I have most of these links BM'd.
The Debevec site is well worth the info and free probes.
I'll see if I have some others.

Bryce can't open Poser files directly, just the .obj mesh files.

Al.

Thanks Guys :D :D

Vee it was the Centaur but i just messed up his skin with a different texture just for the fun of it ;)

Erik the right answer always come at the right time ;)
i am an absolute beginner but i do like this kind of stuff.

Nikkie

Bryce in Poser..... I'm not sure (I don't use v5) but I think thery're coming up (or there already is) a utility for that.....

Riiiick... that's you're department. Can it? [confused]

Nikkie... that was a good experiment. How about doing another view render of that scene or a full render of the centaur?

vee

Bryce can open the Poser ,obj files, the trick is texture mapping, I saw a tutorial on it some where, didn't pay too much attention as I don't use bryce, but if anyone is interested I will look it up. 8))

For you people just getting started in Poser here is a link to 10 short tute designed with the beginner in mind, to help with the basics
http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Form.ViewPages=155 :B

and here is a link to a tute for importing Poser figures into Bryce.

http://phantast.comicbabecentral.com./tutorials.htm

Hope this helps 8))

You are right, Rick, at least partially. .obj is not a Poser-native file, but a Wavefront one. Poser can also read and export Lightwave files etc.
What I meant, and what we are talking about are .pz3, .pz2, .mat, .cr2,... and, in this case, talking HDRI, .lt2.

Sorry Erik I guess I misunderstood, oh well those links I posted might come in handy for some people anyway.

Your are right of course the .obj format is a Wavefront format and as well the default format Poser uses. Poser can import other ojects as you stated I use 3DS objects all the time in Poser.

As for Bryce importing pz3 files I think not. I know that Vue will as I do this a lot. Vue and Poser go quite well together and may soon be combined.

8)) \:]

Vue...some people love it, some say it crashes a lot, some prefer Bryce to it, some say Bryce ok, but 4, not5 (same for Poser)...
I never tried to create landscapes or terrains yet...
When I finish my orc-chase, I might download some demo's...

I don't find any trouble with Vue ver4, and I use Poser 4 Pro Pack, I have 5 but don't like it at all - exept for the Material Room and the raytrace render engine.

Ocr chase - WOW I didn't realise you were into quests :bustagut: :bustagut: be careful if your sword starts to flash blue. :bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut:

Here's a test render of that hair.... maaaaannn.... it's coarse for one thing. Gotta see about textures for it. And the morphs? Very basic but doesn't seem to have any for the bangs...

The model? Donatella by syyd of RDNA.

I know... she's got a stiff, frozen look on her face- but I still don't have those head morphs to give her an expression :{ . Gotta make do for a while.

vee

At least, she hasn't raised her Kundalini so her nostrils don't shine like torches...
hehehe...

about the hair: it's always a nuisance. In my opinion, we should make a thread on "humanising Poser hair with Photoshop".
Much can be done with brushes, and we can certainly ameliorate the results. No crits, Vee, it's almost always like that.
As for the morphs: they are worth it (at 30% reduction), but you can make morphs yourself.
Example: DAZ lips are always recognisable, despite the morphs applied to them.
Otoh, it's incredible how the have created their meshes.

At least, she hasn't raised her Kundalini so her nostrils don't shine like torches...
:bustagut: :righton:

True, same observations myself. All these hair meshes are unrealistic with the exception of a few pricey ones. I might get one if the wallet permits. Rick said right once that Kozaburo's free hair do's are the best around.

I've tried doing the hair in PShop, but with a mouse, my morning hair looks better :bustagut: . Must get a tablet oneday.

It's a good idea tho, I mean "humanizing Poser hair". I have a few hair brushes downloaded over the years, hope I can find em. Let's see....

Help!!

Gentlemen Guru's i need your help... ;\

I am working on a new centaur look in DAZ but everytime when i
want to render the file the ****** programm seems to crash :(| :(| :(| what do i do wrong [confused] :{

Nikkie

Not sure how I can help on this one. Haven't tried tha Studio myself yet.

Why don't you ask for help in the Daz forum. They're willing to help out and at the same time, that could be a bug that needs addressing.

vee

Veeyou were right it was a nasty bug }:\

The new version doesn't seem to have this problem [excited]
downloadable now !!

a new addiction is here ;\
