noob question...

Hello, I'm not an animator but my GF is. She just got a wacom tablet and it came with photoshop elements. Here is my question, do you need Photoshop to install and use Elements?

Hello urak. No need to have Photoshop. You can use elements by itself.

cool thanks. no need to get all elaborate but is elements like photo shop or should we go get photoshop also? all this is reference to her being in class for animation and being able to do homework here not in a computer lab at school.

I've never used Elements but I can tell its used for photo editting but not as extensive as Photoshop. If she's taking up animation, she may have to have Photoshop with its animation and video capabilities apart from image/frame editing.

If she is a student she can get a student version of photoshop with all of the capabilities of the full version (I think all) for a very reasonable price compared to the full version. Just google student discount software. There are alot of places. Maybe an adobe cs web or graphics graphics package would be more bang for the buck.
