old photo needs help!

I've attached an old photo that really needs some help. I think its restoration is beyond my photoshop skill set. Would anyone be interested in giving it a try or giving me some suggetions on how to improve it?

The background is blown out so there is very little that can be done there. the rest is mainly curves adjustments,
